Yes, we can include your vitamins and supplements in your MedBox.

What if I get sick and need an antibiotic or other urgent medications?

MedBox can send a partial supply of the medication you need, which should last until your next MedBox shipment. For more urgent needs, we can coordinate same-day local pickup or delivery.

Do I have to leave my current pharmacy?

Yes, but we will handle all the legwork, such as contacting your old pharmacy and transferring your prescriptions over to MedBox. We make every effort to ensure the transition is as smooth and effortless as possible.

How can my doctor send prescriptions to MedBox?

Your doctor can send the prescription directly to MedBox. If you need the medication right away, MedBox can send you a partial supply to last until you receive your next MedBox shipment.

Are all of my medications eligible to be packaged within the MedBox packs?

For the most part yes. There are some medications, such as inhalers, lotions, and “as-needed” (PRN) meds that may be packaged separately.

Do you deliver controlled substances like schedule II pain medications?

No, the only scheduled medications we deliver are schedule III, IV, and V medications.

How are items that are taken occasionally or “as-needed” (PRN) provided?

“As needed” (PRN) medications are sent in separate pill bottles with instructions.

Can MedBox provide non-pill items like inhalers, ointments, sprays or lotions?

Yes, MedBox can include non-pill items. They will be packaged separately and may arrive in a different box.

How often do you refill medications (30 vs 90 day)?

We currently only fill your MedBox with a 30-day supply. You will automatically receive your following month’s supply a few days before you run out, making the transition smooth and easy.

Do I have to sign for delivery?

In most cases, you do not need to sign for delivery and do not need to be home. If you are receiving any controlled medications, however, you will need to sign for the delivery.

Can caregivers sign up the individuals they care for to use MedBox?

Yes, signing up for someone else is just as easy as signing up yourself. Just make sure to have a list of all their medications, insurance card, doctors, and current pharmacy information on hand.

Is financial assistance available?

MedBox works with non-profit organizations and drug manufacturers to get you the lowest copays possible. If you need financial assistance to pay for your medications, please contact us at (866) 386-1964.

How much will my copays be? Will they change if I switch to MedBox?

No, your copays should remain the same as what you would pay for a 30-day supply at your local retail pharmacy. Your copays are set by your insurance company and should not change if you switch pharmacies.

What happens if the MedBox dispenser is damaged or lost – is there a replacement fee?

The MedBox dispensers are made from quality materials, designed to be durable and resist damage under normal usage. In the event of loss or damage, however, we can offer a replacement at a minimal cost of $30.

Are there additional costs for these MedBox dispensers?

Absolutely not. There are no additional costs associated with our MedBox dispensers. They will be shipped to you free of charge, and they’re designed to be reused with your upcoming medication refills.

Insurance

I have Kaiser insurance. Can I use MedBox?

We do accept certain Kaiser plans. Please call us to verify. However, if you have a Kaiser commercial plan, you would have to continue with Kaiser due to insurance restrictions.

I have a VA insurance, can I use MedBox?

We do accept Tricare, however, if you get your medication directly from the VA you would have to continue with them due to insurance restrictions.

Does MedBox take Medicare?

Yes, MedBox accepts Medicare Part D.

How will I pay my copays?

You can use a credit card or checks to pay your copays.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept Medicare, multi-state Medicaid, Medi-Cal, Blue Shield, and most private insurances.
